A few months ago, a friend recommended that I check out Britta Teckentrup because she thought I would love this illustrator’s work. My friend was right! I had the chance of receiving Home through the inter-library loans. Let’s jump in!
I’m always so happy when I get to look at a cut-out book because the excitement of peeking through the different parts of the pages is just too much fun. It adds so much interaction with the book and the story and always makes the reading experience that much more exciting. With this book, the readers get to follow an adorable baby bear characters who explores the forest and sees many different types of homes and habitats. I thought it was such a fun way to explore different animals. The nature scenes are also incredibly rich and beautiful to look at.
A combination of different techniques, the illustrations of this book are stunning and fun. Full of beautiful textures, each page is incredibly interesting to get lost into.

Il y a quelques mois, une amie m'a recommandée d'aller jeter un coup d'œil à Britta Teckentrup, car elle pensait que j'adorerais le travail de cette illustratrice. Mon amie avait raison ! J'ai eu la chance de recevoir Dans mon abri grâce aux prêts inter-bibliothèques. C'est parti !
Je suis toujours ravie de pouvoir regarder un livre découpé, car l'excitation de jeter un coup d'œil à travers les différentes parties des pages est tout simplement trop amusante. Cela permet d'interagir avec le livre et l'histoire et de rendre l'expérience de lecture encore plus passionnante. Dans ce livre, les lecteurs suivent un adorable bébé ours qui explore la forêt et voit différents types de maisons et d'habitats. J'ai trouvé que c'était une façon très amusante d'explorer différents animaux. Les scènes de nature sont également incroyablement riches et belles à regarder.
Combinant différentes techniques, les illustrations de ce livre sont magnifiques et amusantes. Pleines de belles textures, chaque page est incroyablement intéressante pour se perdre.
